GIVING

Chesapeake Music is grateful for the very generous support provided by the following institutions and organizations:

GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
For 35 years, Chesapeake Music has brought world renowned musicians and rising musical stars to the Eastern Shore to delight audiences and introduce young people to fine music. The generous support of so many is what makes this possible. There are numerous ways that you can be a supporter of Chesapeake Music, each one designed to enable you to designate where the funds should go and the way in which you choose to contribute. Our various Giving Opportunities are described below, and you can use the donate button to easily make a contribution. If you prefer you can mail your contribution to our office and you are encouraged to contact our Executive Director for answers to questions or for further information.

GENERAL FUND
Contributions to the General Fund are used to support activities of Chesapeake Music that are beneficial to all of the program areas. Examples of these activities are Interlude our periodic newsletter, overall publicity, ticketing services, bookkeeping, contract management and professional staff. Donors to the General Fund are recognized in our Annual Report.

SPONSORS AND SUPPORTERS
Ticket revenues for fine music programming are rarely enough to cover all of the costs of the performance. Sponsorship is a way to supplement ticket sales and be recognized as a contributor to Chesapeake Music. Donors can sponsor our major activities; The Chesapeake Chamber Music Festival, the Monty Alexander Jazz Festival, the International Chamber Music Competition and Youthreach; or for a lesser contribution, an individual concert or activity in one of the program areas. Individuals who wish to be Supporters of concert programs generally are encouraged to contribute to the festival or activity of their choice. Sponsors are recognized by signage at all concerts, in the Program book, by announcement at the introduction of a concert and will receive concert tickets. Supporters are recognized in the Program Book program book or other appropriate announcements.

ENDOWMENTS
One way to honor musicians who have made important contributions to Chesapeake Music over the years and to leave lasting support for fine music performance on the Eastern Shore, is to endow a performance chair or Competition Prize. The chair or prize can be named for a musician or donor and/or a particular instrument. A substantial contribution is required for an endowment; however, payment can be over several years. Funds received for endowment are invested with a professional money manager and the return from the investment is used to support performances or prizes.

LEGACY SUPPORT
People who are considering ways to leave a lasting legacy in support of fine music are encouraged to consider Chesapeake Music in their estate planning. Legacy gifts can be designated to support the Festivals, Competition, Concerts, Youthreach, Chairs or General Funding. A variety of mechanisms are available for this purpose such as; bequests, gift annuities, life insurance, property, etc.

CIRCLE OF FRIENDS
Donors who contribute a combined amount in a fiscal year of $1,000 or more become members of our Circle of Friends. The Circle of Friends enjoy a special event once a year and are individually recognized at all Chesapeake Music Events.
