The David Trio

THE DAVID TRIO

Along with winning the First Prize and Audience Prize at the International Chesapeake Chamber Music Competition in Easton, MD-USA, the David Trio won the first Prize and the Bösendorfer Prize at the International Haydn Competition for Chamber Music in Vienna and First Prize at the Yellow Springs Chamber Music Competition in Yellow Springs, OH-USA.

One of the most in-demand groups in Europe, the David Trio has an intense performance schedule in Italy (Società del Quartetto in Vercelli, Unione Musicale of Torino, Amici della Musica di Palermo, Concerts from the Quirinale, Amici della Musica di Padova, Pescara, Foggia and Campobasso, Ponchielli Theatre in Cremona, Teatro Verdi of Pordenone, Fazioli Concert Hall) in Europe (Casals Festival of Prades, Haydn Festspiel of Eisenstadt, Rohrau Haydn-Gedenkstatte, Allegro Vivo Kammermusik Festival, Montpellier-Radio France, Wigmore Hall of London, Concertgebow of Amsterdam) and South America (Coliseum Theatre in Buenos Aires, Fundaciòn Beethoven of Santiago de Chile).

Since its founding, The David Trio found inspiration under the guidance of international chamber music giants, the Altenberg Trio Wien and Hatto Beyerle. The David Trio has the distinction of being chosen to represent the European Chamber Music Academy. The have been awarded a Borletti-Buitoni Trust (London)Fellowship which supported the trio’s career and has sponsored the first recording of the complete Schubert Trios on the Altara label. This recording is considered one of the best interpretations of these masterworks. Recently the David Trio recorded the Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich trios on the Stradivarius label which was awarded a special prize from the magazines “Gramophone” and “Classical Voice”. Each member of the trio has an extensive solo career and a deep love for the incredibly rich repertoire written for piano trios. The trio will be releasing their recording of the complete Brahms and Arensky Piano Trios in 2016.
